Kriston & Kathrine | Leura & Lincoln’s Rock Engagement Session

Kriston & Kathrine | Leura & Lincoln’s Rock Engagement Session

Kriston & Kathrine’s engagement session in the Blue Mountains was all about autumn colour, wide open landscapes, and slowing things down to enjoy the moment.

On Sunday 9th May 2021, my wife Amy and I headed up to the mountains for a short getaway, planning a night away and photographing a few couples during our stay. Kriston & Kathrine were especially keen to make the most of the season — chasing the rich autumn tones and dramatic scenery the Blue Mountains are known for.

Autumn Engagement Photos in Leura

We met in Leura on a calm Sunday afternoon. Leura is one of those places that really shines in autumn, with tree-lined streets, warm colours, and a relaxed village feel that works beautifully for engagement sessions.

We wandered through the streets, using the old building facades, textured walls, and colourful foliage as backdrops. The pace was easy and unforced — giving Kriston & Kathrine space to just be themselves while we captured natural, candid moments along the way.

Sunset at Lincoln’s Rock, Wentworth Falls

As the light softened, we made our way to Lincoln’s Rock — one of the most iconic lookout spots in the region. Known for its uninterrupted views and lack of fencing, Lincoln’s Rock is popular with visitors, especially around sunset.

We timed it perfectly. As the sun dipped lower, golden light poured through the valley, wrapping the mountains and the two of them in a soft glow. It’s one of those locations where the scale of the landscape does a lot of the heavy lifting, allowing portraits to feel cinematic without being overworked.

A Relaxed, Natural Engagement Session

Kriston & Kathrine were completely at ease throughout the session, which made photographing them feel effortless. Engagement shoots like this are about more than just the photos — they’re a chance to slow down, explore a place together, and enjoy a moment that sits somewhere between everyday life and the excitement of what’s ahead.

The combination of Leura’s autumn colours and Lincoln’s Rock at sunset made for an unforgettable afternoon in the mountains.

Kind Words

“Thank you for capturing this!”
