Ana & Dylan | Collits’ Inn Wedding, Blue Mountains

Ana & Dylan’s wedding at Collits' Inn was the perfect blend of relaxed country charm, history, and genuine emotion — all set against one of the most character-rich venues in the Blue Mountains.

Located in Hartley Vale, around 10km west of Lithgow, Collits’ Inn is the longest-standing building in the Blue Mountains region. Surrounded by sandstone architecture, mature trees, and open grounds, it offers couples a setting that feels intimate, timeless, and completely removed from the rush of modern life.

A Calm, Unrushed Start to the Day

One of the biggest advantages of Collits’ Inn is the large homestead accommodation on site. Ana and Dylan both got ready separately within the property, which allowed the morning to unfold in a calm, low-key way without any travel or time pressure.

With everything happening in one location, the energy stayed relaxed from the very beginning — something that sets the tone for the rest of the day.

A Shaded Ceremony Among the Trees

The ceremony took place just a short walk from Ana’s room, in a beautifully shaded spot framed by trees. Guests arrived through the hedges and down the aisle as the bridal party prepared to enter.

Celebrant Rebecca George welcomed family and friends before the bridal party made their way down the aisle — led by a legendary “flower man” armed with a silver bumbag full of petals, retro sunglasses, and an abundance of confidence.

Ana walked down the aisle with both her mum and dad by her side. As she approached, Dylan’s emotions were immediate and unfiltered — one of those raw moments that makes wedding photography so meaningful. Capturing that reaction is always a privilege.

Garden Drinks & Easy Transitions

Between the ceremony and reception spaces, guests gathered in the gardens for canapés and drinks. The area had been thoughtfully styled with eclectic tables and chairs, lawn games, and music, creating a relaxed atmosphere while everyone waited for the couple to return from photos.

After a few quick group shots, the bridal party joined their guests so the celebration could continue without interruption.

Exploring the Grounds for Portraits

Once the energy was flowing, we took the bridal party for a short walk around the property for photos. Starting beneath the shaded trees near the ceremony, we then made use of the historic homestead architecture before sending everyone back to enjoy canapés — leaving space to focus on Ana and Dylan together.

Arriving at Collits’ Inn earlier in the day gave me time to explore the property and find some quieter, less obvious locations. One standout spot was a narrow pathway between the homestead and shed, surrounded by dense greenery. The soft light and pastel tones made it perfect for intimate, unposed portraits.

A Barn Reception to Remember

As the afternoon rolled on, Ana and Dylan rejoined their guests — catching up, soaking it all in, and enjoying the day they had spent so long planning. Having a well-considered timeline meant nothing felt rushed, and they could truly be present.

The reception took place in the barn, a warm and atmospheric space styled beautifully with personal touches and ambient lighting. The combination of rustic textures and thoughtful styling made it an unforgettable setting for speeches, dinner, and celebration.

Collits’ Inn is one of those venues that effortlessly supports the flow of a wedding day — and it’s always a favourite to photograph.

Kind Words from Ana & Dylan

“Count yourself blessed if you get this legend as your photographer.
Bryce was perfection from beginning to end — professional, prepared, and so easy to be around. He made the day feel breezy and comfortable, especially for an introvert, and the photos completely blew our minds.
We couldn’t recommend him more.”
