Jaime & David | Horizons Maroubra Beach Wedding
Jaime & David’s Horizons Maroubra Beach Wedding - Sydney
I first met these two beautiful humans a couple of years before their wedding, when bride-to-be Jaime was videoing a wedding that I was photographing. Her fiancé, David, was her assistant and driver for the day; honestly, they felt like old friends. It was such an incredible day!
Fast forward, I receive an enquiry from a familiar name about a wedding in Sydney. I replied within minutes and then jumped on a call to chat more and dive into Jaime & David's wedding plans! They made things official by booking me in and securing their date. Here is a recap of their wedding day...
Jaime & David's day was a beautiful blend of cultural tradition and coastal vibes, starting bright and early with a traditional Cambodian ceremony at the groom's parents' home. The ceremony ran for five hours and included three stunning outfit changes—each more incredible than the last.
After the early ceremony (8 am!!), We snapped family and friend photos at the house before everyone enjoyed lunch. Then it was time for part two. The couple headed to the Crowne Plaza Coogee for the second round of getting ready. We captured some prep moments there before making our way across to Horizons at Maroubra Beach for their Western-style ceremony.
Just meters from their reception venue, the ceremony occurred on the beach with the ocean behind them and a short, sweet 20-minute vow exchange. A few quick photos with guests followed, then we ran for it, chasing the last of the light as the sun dipped behind the clouds rolling in along the coast.
We stopped at the main beach for some shots before heading to Jack Vanny Lookout. The views were unreal—crazy cliffside edges, grassy trails, ocean baths, and soft, glowy light that makes everything look like magic. Following their sunset portrait session in Maroubra, we made our way back to Horizons South Maroubra wedding venue for their reception. Some incredible speeches, fantastic food & it was time for the dancefloor to open up.
After capturing the dancefloor and some candid social shots, we snuck outside with the couple for a nighttime champagne pop photo as a nice wrap up to their wedding day photo & video coverage. Such a phenomenal day to have been part of!
TESTIMONIAL:
Bryce is an amazing photographer! And even better, he is a genuinely nice human being. He was so organised and prepared. We had the wedding at a venue he had never shot at, so he came down to Sydney a day before on his own time to look around and find the best spot for sunset photos.
He was so chill during the day and worked so well with my videographer that guests asked if they had worked together. They had never met!
He even sent us a sneak peek of some of his favourite photos less than 2 days after the wedding. Legend! I highly recommend hiring Bryce as your wedding photographer if you are looking for beautiful photos you can treasure for a lifetime.
