Megan & Jordan | Snapper Point Engagement Shoot

Megan & Jordan’s engagement shoot at Snapper Point was all about dramatic coastline, late-afternoon light, and embracing the raw beauty of the Central Coast.

Located just a few hundred metres from Frazer Park Beach, Snapper Point sits within a designated conservation zone and is known for its rugged volcanic rock formations, steep cliff edges, and uninterrupted ocean views. It’s a location that feels wild and untouched — and one that rewards those willing to explore it carefully.

A Coastal Contrast to the Hunter Valley

Megan & Jordan chose a coastal engagement shoot as a contrast to their upcoming Hunter Valley wedding at Peterson House. Swapping vineyards and mountains for open ocean and cliffs gave their engagement photos a completely different feel, while still keeping things relaxed and natural.

We met at the car park before making our way down to the nearby beach for the first part of the shoot, easing into the session as the afternoon light softened.

Golden Hour Along the Cliffs

As the sun dipped lower behind the cliffs, we climbed back up to the elevated sections overlooking the beach. From there, the perspective opens right out over the coastline, with layers of rock, water, and sky creating a dramatic backdrop.

The golden light wrapped around Megan and Jordan as they stood cliffside, creating warm, glowing portraits that felt effortless and unposed. It’s one of those moments where the landscape does a lot of the work, allowing the images to feel cinematic without being over-styled.

Chasing the Last Light

Once the sun dropped fully, the sky shifted into deeper purples and blues, enhancing the earthy tones of the rocks and ocean below. One spot I’d always wanted to photograph was right out on the far ridge of the cliff — a narrow, slightly sketchy section that requires care, but delivers incredible results.

It was well worth it. The combination of fading light, open sky, and the scale of the coastline made for some of the standout images from the session.

Why Snapper Point Works So Well for Engagement Photos

Snapper Point is one of the Central Coast’s most recognisable coastal locations, and for good reason. It’s ideal for couples who want:

  • A dramatic ocean backdrop

  • Rugged, natural scenery

  • Strong light at sunset

  • Something a little less polished and more raw

Every session here feels different depending on light, tide, and weather — which keeps it exciting and unique every time.

Kind Words from Megan & Jordan

“We absolutely love them all. You did such a wonderful job!”
