The Woodhouse Wollombi Styled Wedding Shoot

The Woodhouse Wollombi Styled Wedding Shoot

This styled wedding shoot at The Woodhouse Wollombi was a creative collaboration designed to showcase the versatility of one of the Hunter Valley’s most distinctive wedding venues — through a modern, design-led lens.

Set in the heart of the village of Wollombi, The Woodhouse is instantly recognisable for its bold architectural style. Vertical timber cladding, black detailing, and a long tree-lined driveway give the venue a contemporary edge, while the surrounding gardens and on-site accommodation keep it grounded in its natural setting.

A Creative Concept for a Unique Ceremony Space

The concept for the shoot began in conversation with Flowers by Grace, who had a vision to transform one of the venue’s large sculptural installations into a floral ceremony backdrop.

The goal was simple: to highlight a ceremony location at The Woodhouse that isn’t commonly used, and to show couples what’s possible when creativity and thoughtful styling come together. Once the idea was on the table, pulling together the right team to bring it to life was the natural next step.

Bringing the Vision to Life

A talented group of local vendors collaborated to elevate the shoot beyond a standard styled session. Filmed by Andy captured the day on video, while one of my second shooters focused on behind-the-scenes content, details, and candid moments throughout the shoot.

Hair and makeup were looked after by Haus of Her, creating a soft, refined look that complemented the venue’s modern lines without overpowering them.

Styling, Fashion & Details

Styling for the shoot was led by Sugarblossom Events, working closely with Flowers by Grace to build a reception space layered with soft fabrics, sculptural florals, oversized candles, and textural elements. The result was romantic, intentional, and visually striking — perfectly suited to The Woodhouse’s clean architectural backdrop.

The groom wore a classic black two-piece suit from Gentlemens Outfitters Newcastle, styled by Andrew, while the bride wore two gowns supplied by Loved Bridal Studio — a Newcastle-based studio known for its carefully curated collection.

Finishing touches included an intricately hand-piped cake by Melrose Cakes, along with hire and styling elements from Beavis Your Event Team and The Event Artists.

Why Styled Shoots Matter for Venues Like The Woodhouse

Styled shoots play an important role in helping couples visualise what’s possible within a space. This shoot was designed to show how The Woodhouse Wollombi can be transformed beyond its most familiar layouts — highlighting flexibility, scale, and creative potential.

For couples planning a wedding at The Woodhouse, it’s a reminder that the venue works just as beautifully for bold, modern concepts as it does for softer, more traditional celebrations.

A Celebration of Collaboration & Creativity

At its core, this shoot was about collaboration — bringing together a group of creatives to explore new ideas, push boundaries, and showcase a venue in a fresh way. The result was a collection of imagery that feels considered, elevated, and true to the spirit of The Woodhouse Wollombi.
