A Creative Wedding Collaboration in the Hunter Valley
This recent styled shoot took place at The Woodhouse Wollombi, a stunning wedding venue tucked away in the charming village of Wollombi, right in the heart of the Hunter Valley. Instantly recognisable thanks to its striking architecture—vertical timber cladding, sleek black trim, and a long, tree-lined driveway—the venue also features beautifully landscaped gardens and onsite accommodation, making it a dream spot for couples looking for a modern yet natural wedding setting.
The concept for the shoot started in conversation with the incredibly talented Flowers by Grace, who had a vision to transform one of the large sculptural installations on the property into a floral ceremony backdrop. The idea was to showcase a previously unused ceremony location at The Woodhouse—and of course, I was instantly on board.
I pulled together a team of amazing vendors to bring the vision to life, knowing they’d help take the shoot to the next level. We had Filmed by Andy capturing the day on video, while one of my second shooters focused on content creation—behind-the-scenes moments, details of the styling, and the couple throughout the shoot.
Hair & makeup were in the expert hands of Amanda & Tori from Haus of Her, and Sugarblossom Events styled the space alongside Grace, creating a whimsical reception setup draped in soft fabrics, layered textures, oversized candles, and thoughtful styling elements that felt luxurious and romantic.
The groom’s classic black two-piece suit came from Gentlemens Outfitters Newcastle, styled by Andrew—a well-known local tailor and former Newcastle Jets player.
The bride wore two stunning gowns provided by Bettina from Loved Bridal, a boutique Newcastle bridal studio known for their carefully curated collection.
We finished off the look with an intricately hand-piped cake by Melrose Cakes, paired with additional styling and hire elements from The Event Artists and Beavis Your Event Team.
This shoot was all about creativity, collaboration, and showcasing the beauty and versatility of The Woodhouse in a new light—and the result? Pure magic.
